CENTRAL MONTCALM 2-1 AT LAKEVIEW QUAD: The Green Hornets went 2-1 at the Lakeview quad meet on Sept. 26, defeating Lakeview (25-11, 25-17) and Big Rapids (25-19, 15-25, 25-20) but losing to Kent City (15-25, 14-25). Maddie Wagner led the team with 16 kills while Grace Flanigan led the team in digs with 17. Brooklyn Phenix had a team-high 38 assists. Eight Hornets finished with a 100% serving accuracy on the day.
CENTRAL MONTCALM 3, CHIPPEWA HILLS 1: The Green Hornets defeated Chippewa Hills at home on Tuesday, 24-26, 25-11, 25-21, 25-16. Bailey Vissman led the team in kills with 11 while London Eldridge added 10. Tiana Whitacre had 25 assists to lead the team while Grace Flanigan led the team in digs with 32. RECORD: 5-2 overall, 3-1 CSAA-Gold. NEXT: at West Branch quad today.
IONIA 2-1 AT HOSTED QUAD: The Bulldogs went 2-1 on Sept. 26 at their hosted quad tournament, defeating Haslett (25-17, 25-20, 15-6) and Freeland (23-25, 25-18, 15-12) while losing to Holt (16-25, 22-25, 15-13). Danika Fyan led the team in kills with 22 while Brynn Reams added 17. Paige Castillo finished with a team-high 37 digs and also led the team in aces with seven. Fyan added six blocks to lead the team.

GREENVILLE BOYS SEVENTH, GIRLS EIGHTH AT CEDAR SPRINGS: BOYS: The Yellow Jackets’ boys team placed seventh out of nine teams at the Cedar Springs invite on Sept. 26 with a team score of 207. Cedar Springs took first place with a team score of 38. Charlie Weinheimer led the Jackets with a time of 18:55, placing 30th, followed by Lucas Goodall (20:03, 51st), Liam Sullivan (21:01, 66th), George Amidon (21:02, 67th) and Oliver Sullivan (21:53, 85th). GIRLS: The Jackets’ girls team finished eighth out of 10 teams at Cedar Springs with a team score of 228. Calvin Christian placed first with a score of 34. Nora Longest led the team with a time of 23:14, placing 39th, followed by Zoe Robinet (23:31, 42nd), McKenna Cameron (26:26, 75th), Madissen Chaney (26:32, 76th) and Talisee Petersen (30:25, 89th). NEXT: at Byron Center Wednesday.
BELDING BOYS THIRD, GIRLS FOURTH AT CEDAR SPRINGS: BOYS: The Black Knights’ boys team placed third out of nine teams on Sept. 26 at the Cedar Springs invite with a team score of 74. Ethan Rockburn led the Knights with a second-place finish in 16:09, followed by Maxwell McCarty (17:35, 9th), Keagen Ford (18:10, 16th), Logan Balis (18:31, 22nd) and Eliot Ward (18:50, 29th). GIRLS: The Black Knights’ girls team took fourth out of 10 teams on Sept. 26 with a team score of 98. Julia Finley led the Black Knights with a sixth-place finish in 20:30, followed by Alivia Lamborne (21:28, 12th), Carley Lamborne (22:05, 22nd), Emmalee Springer (22:17, 26th) and Brooklyn German (22:48, 35th). NEXT: at Allendale invite at 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

IONIA 8, WAVERLY 0: The Bulldogs swept Waverly on Tuesday on the road. Five flights won while only dropping 1 game between both sets — No. 3 singles Brett Longanbach, No. 4 singles Miles Gregory, No. 1 doubles Collin Palmer and Brett Petersen, No. 2 doubles Ethan Rowland and Colter Clark and No. 4 doubles Elijah Hatfield and Lucas Wandell.
