Since the pandemic began more and more companies have been offering online services and according to the Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Technology and Innovation, embracing that shift to digital will help make our industries more competitive.

Earlier this week the province announced a $2.7-million plan to help local companies adapt digitally.

Paul Preston, the CEO of NATI, says embracing technology and going in a digital direction will help a number of industries including aquaculture and the fishery. He says the more we embrace technology, the more competitive we’ll be.

He says online and digital solutions “critical” for businesses to be able to compete globally, and that companies who embrace digital will be well-positioned coming out of the pandemic.

Preston says once you realize the potential going digital offers, businesses will continue that technological growth and become more “tech-enabled.
