A day after the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) spokesperson and Maharashtra Minorities Affairs Minister Nawab Malik claimed that the NCB‘s October 2 raid on a cruise ship was ‘fake’, Neeraj Yadav, a Bhopal resident, spoke to India Today TV and claimed that he “tipped off” the two men who then alerted the NCB.
The two people in question were BJP worker Manish Bhanushali and a private detective named Kiran (KP) Gosavi, whose selfie with Aryan in the police station went viral.
Yadav claimed that he was told of the party by a friend who was also attending the bash on October 1. According to the report, he then called Bhanushali to inform him about the alleged drugs on the cruise. Bhanushali reportedly passed on the message to the NCB officials.
In a series of messages accessed by the portal, Bhanushali sent a WhatsApp message to Yadav and asked him to talk to KP Gosavi and sent him his details. Hours later, Yadav called Bhanushali to inquire where they had reached, to which he was told that Gosavi and 25 people from NCB were accompanying them.
In the communications made public, Bhanushali informed him that 9 people were caught, one of whom was Shah Rukh Khan’s son.
On Wednesday, the case took a political angle with the NCP party member pointing out that the man who was seen escorting Aryan Khan in one of the videos was not an NCB official, and his social media profile states that he is a ‘private detective’.
Further, two men were seen escorting Arbaaz Merchant, also arrested in the case, in another video, and one of them was a member of the BJP, Malik alleged.
“If these two men are not officials of the NCB, then why were they escorting two high-profile people (Khan and Merchant),” he asked.
The NCB promptly denied the charges and said that the two men were among the nine “independent witnesses.”
