Craig Fulton Appointed Coach Of Indian Men’s Hockey Team

New Delhi: Hockey India (HI) has appointed Craig Fulton from South Africa as chief coach of the Indian males’s crew.

He will succeed Graham Reid, who led India to its first Olympic medal in 41 years.

Fulton was serving as assistant coach with Olympic champions Belgium, who completed runners-up on the World Cup in Odisha in January.

The 48-year-old former worldwide performed 191 matches for South Africa between 1996 and 2005, together with 1996 and 2004 Olympics and 2002 World Cup.

After teaching stints at numerous golf equipment in England, Ireland, and South Africa, Fulton grew to become the pinnacle coach of Ireland in 2014 and lead the crew to bronze at 2015 EuroHockey Championship. He obtained the 2015 FIH Men’s Coach of the Year award.

Four years later, he joined Belgium as an assistant to move coach Shane McLeod, serving to them win the 2018 World Cup in Bhubaneswar. He was additionally a part of the Belgian outfit that received the Tokyo Olympics gold.
