Actor Edavela Babu has criticised the Vineeth Sreenivasan-starrer ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ for being excessively damaging. He mentioned he was bewildered at how such a damaging movie bought the censor board’s nod. He was talking on the ‘Cinemayum Ezhuthum’ dialogue held on the National Legislature’s Book Festival.
It is a disturbing development that the director had religion within the movie’s acceptance and the viewers’s constructive response to the movie, Babu mentioned.
“Recently we noticed the discharge of a movie known as ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’. I don’t know the way it was handed by the Censor Board, the movie is so damaging. The movie itself begins with the tagline ‘We don’t have anybody to thank’.
“I am not going to repeat the climax dialogue here. And the heroine’s choice of words cannot be reproduced here. That’s the kind of offensive language she has used… Surprisingly this film worked at the box office. Who has suffered moral degeneration? The audience or filmmakers?” he mentioned.
“The producers made enough profits from the film. I can’t even begin to process a film like this. I did call Vineeth Sreenivasan and asked him how he agreed to act in it. Apparently, some seven heroes rejected the film. But Vineeth couldn’t say no to this project as it is directed by his assistant,” he added.
“The director apparently had religion within the movie that it’ll work on the field workplace. Why blame the filmmakers, I’m questioning what’s taking place to our viewers?” Babu mentioned.
Directed by Abhinav Sundar Nayak, ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ was launched on November 11, 2022. This darkish humour was appreciated by the viewers and critics alike. Aarsha Chandni Baiju is the heroine of the movie. Suraj Venjaramoodu, Sudhi Koppa, Tanvi Ram, Jagadish, Sudheesh are additionally enjoying key roles within the movie. It is now streaming on Hotstar.
