Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is has taken up efforts to improve sports facilities in the city. The GHMC has decided to hire a care-taker for swimming pools owned by the civic body. A sport administrator will also be hired in addition to Rs 1 lakh being granted to GHMC corporator for purchasing sports equipment.
“Care-takers will be hired and trained on overall management of the pool, especially measures that need to be taken post Covid-19,” said a GHMC official.
As per the plan chalked out by GHMC, the sports administrators will take care of the 21 sports complexes. As on date there are six game inspectors to monitor ground situation of all the sports complexes, play grounds and swimming pools. The number of Staffers that will be hired to oversee sports facilities has not been decided yet. There are seven swimming pools, 12 skating rinks , five tennis courts, 135 gyms, 521 play grounds and 21 sports complexes.
