Ride-hailing app Gojek’s video-on-demand service GoPlay now comes with a pay-per-view option called GoPlay Rental.

Users are able to rent movies through the streaming service and pay for one-time viewings.

“In adapting to the new normal, consumers are now enjoying their [entertainment] at home,” said GoPlay CEO Edy Sulistyo. “This is why we are working with local content creators to have a varied selection of entertainment for our users.”

This is not the first time the company has worked with local creators and provided premium content. In February, it released an exclusive showing of Gossip Girl Indonesia.

GoPlay rentals range from Rp 15,000 (US$1.01) to Rp 29,000 per view. Users will have access to the content for 30 days and be able to watch it for 48 hours.

To access GoPlay Rental, users can pick titles labeled GoPlay Rental or For Rent in the GoPlay app and make payments with GoPay.

The service includes box office films such as American Hustle, La La Land and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay.

Launched in September 2019, GoPlay has added multiple features in its services in recent months, including interactive livestreaming, Chromecast and Airplay for live streaming and its own film and series festivals. (car/wng)
