WAYLAND, MI — Gun Lake Casino has joined the growing list of Michigan casinos adding sports betting to their offerings.
The casino, located along U.S. 131 in Allegan County, announced it will open its new sports betting lounge 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3.
In-person sports betting launched this March in Michigan ahead of March Madness; however, the tournament was canceled the next day due to the coronavirus pandemic. This summer, Four Winds and Firekeepers both opened up sports betting after casinos were allowed to reopen in July.
Inside Gun Lake Casino’s Stage 131 Sportsbook and Lounge, guests will place bets on a range of sports, including pro and college football, basketball, baseball, golf, hockey, soccer, boxing, mixed martial arts, tennis and more, according to a press release.
Given that many U.S. sports are still delayed due to coronavirus, guests have the option to view and bet on international sporting events as well, according to the release.
The lounge is fully staffed with sportsbook writers to support guests who are new to sports betting, said Jose Flores, vice president and general manager of Gun Lake Casino.
“Our dedication to provide an exceptional sports betting experience stems from our continued reputation of top quality entertainment,” Flores said. “We have worked diligently to create a comfortable and exciting atmosphere within Stage 131 Sportsbook and Lounge for all guests interested in sports betting.”
