CLINTONVILLE – The Irish swept the Truckers 25-13, 25-10, 25-13 in a North Eastern Conference match.

Leaders for Freedom were Rachel Koss and Taylor Theobald with 11 assists apiece, Linnea Willer with six kills, Elayna Christensen with five digs and Anna Nason with four aces.

FOX VALLEY LUTHERAN 3, DENMARK 0

APPLETON – The Foxes swept the Vikings 25-20, 25-15, 25-14.

Cassie Patchett had 11 kills, Holly Malkowski had 25 assists and Kenzie Benter had eight kills for the Foxes. Rachel Kempinger led the Foxes with 15 digs and Kennedy Schmitz had 14 digs.

XAVIER 3, SEYMOUR 0

SEYMOUR – The Hawks defeated the Thunder 25-17, 26-24, 25-23 in Xavier’s season opener.

Carley Michalkiewicz had a double-double for Xavier with 10 kills and 13 digs. Kellan Meyer led Xavier with 14 assists while Courtney Vande Hey had 13 digs.

LUXEMBURG-CASCO 3, WRIGHTSTOWN 0

WRIGHTSTOWN – The Spartans swept the Tigers 25-11, 25-15, 25-19 in a North Eastern Conference match.

Leaders for Luxemburg-Casco were Emma Johnson with 24 assists, four digs and two aces, Grace Holschuh with nine kills, and Hannah Derenne with eight digs and five kills. Autumn Flynn and Kenzie Hanson added six kills apiece for the Spartans.

“We worked our way through the start of set one, but from there I was really happy with the way our girls played,” Spartans coach Jeff Frey said. “It was great to be on the court playing, and we are going to enjoy and take advantage of every opportunity we have.”

HILBERT 3, ST. MARY CATHOLIC 2

HILBERT – The Wolves defeated the Zephyrs 24-26, 27-29, 25-16, 27-25, 15-8 in a Big East Conference match.

Leaders for Hilbert were Laney Halbach with 19 kills and eight digs, Lillian Sheets with 13 kills and nine aces, Meghan Propson with 28 assists and Caitlin Raymond with 10 blocks.

Leaders for St. Mary Catholic were Jaydin Vosters with 10 kills, seven aces and two blocks, Ellie DeWitt with 35 assists, and Ava Staehler with eight kills and seven aces.

NEW HOLSTEIN – The Huskies built a 7-0 halftime lead and cruised to a victory over the Indians.

Jonathan Kalbacken led the offensive onslaught with three goals, Omar Hernandez and Faton Azemi scored two apiece, and Gustavo Hernandez, Adam Scholz and Cohen Barajas added one each.

Levi Kesler tallied seven saves in goal for New Holstein.

“This was our first game of the season and these young men played very well tonight. There was never a doubt from the opening kickoff that we would set the tone for the game this evening,” New Holstein coach John Moore said. “We have been working hard during the offseason, and the results of this game showed that hard work these young men have been putting in during the preseason. Everyone on the roster got playing time tonight, so hopefully that experience will help us as a team in the future.”
