National Crime Records Bureau’s (NCRB) in its annual ‘Crime India’ report for 2020 confirmed, as many as 3.92 lakh lives have been misplaced in three years in deaths attributable to negligence associated to street accidents

The report mentioned, in 2020 alone, there have been 41,196 circumstances of “hit and run” while there were 47,504 such cases in 2019 and 47,028 in 2018.

On an average, there were 112 cases of “hit and run” reported throughout the nation on daily basis previously yr, in keeping with the information.

The report also showed, 52 cases of deaths due to negligence relating to rail accidents were recorded across the country in 2020, from 55 in 2019 and 35 in 2018. 

It added, uring 2020, India also logged 133 cases of “deaths attributable to medical negligence”, up from 201 in 2019 and 218 in 2018.

There were 51 cases of “deaths attributable to negligence of civic our bodies” in 2020 whereas there have been 147 circumstances in 2019 and 40 in 2018, in keeping with the report.

Another 6,367 circumstances of “deaths due to other negligence” have been reported throughout the nation in 2020, up from 7,912 in 2019 and eight,687 in 2018, it confirmed.

The NCRB said within the report that the nation remained beneath full lockdown from March 25, 2020 until May 31, 2020 as a result of COVID-19 pandemic throughout which the motion in public house was “very limited”.
