The Indian markets registered a sharp decline in Friday’s afternoon session to slip into the red.
The S&P BSE Sensex dipped over 600 points to 37,660.83 levels after reaching as high as 38, 540 earlier in the session. NSE’s Nifty was trading at 11,132.55 levels, down 1.5 per cent.
Besides, Eicher Motors slipped over 3 per cent in early deals after posting a net loss of Rs 55 crore in the June quarter results (Q1FY21). Hero MotoCorp was also trading lower after reporting a 95 per cent YoY dip in Q1 net profit.
The Nifty sectoral indies were trading largely in the green, led by Nifty Pharma index, up 2.5 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty Auto index dipped over 1 per cent.
