All three Melcher-Dallas sports will have full weeks in this shortened work week. Tuesday, the cross country squads head to Central Decatur. Girls runner J’Lyn Knutson won and is looking to capture another first place medal on Tuesday. Meanwhile the boys are a small but mighty unit as freshman Mason DeJong finished 75th on Thursday at Wayne in a time of 25:57, a time that Coach Amy Stuart was very happy with.

Stuart:
“I was pretty proud of him and the race he was going after. He wanted to get to 26:00 and he ran 25:57 and beat some people that he didn’t beat at Albia. He was a great competitor and that was exciting to see.”

On the volleyball court, the Saints will host Moulton-Udell on Thursday. Melcher-Dallas just came off a sweep of the Eagles last week. Football rounds out the week looking for its first win at Martensdale-St. Mary’s with kickoff scheduled for seven.
