JACKSON, Miss. – Mississippi Public Broadcasting introduced Andrew Bicknell as its new chief expertise officer/director of Engineering, overseeing the company’s statewide community of eight towers and 12 microwave towers.
Bicknell has labored in broadcasting and communications engineering since 1984. Previously, he’s held positions as director of Engineering and chief expertise officer at Arkansas PBS and joint chief engineer of Radio and Television at Houston Public Media.
Bicknell started his profession in Perth, Western Australia, earlier than relocating to the U.S. in 1997.
MPB’s tower community is a important first alert supplier for Mississippi by means of partnerships with the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency, the Department of Public Safety, and the Office of the Governor. Strengthening the community infrastructure and supporting the company’s digital-first strategy to programming and community engineering are amongst Bicknell’s high priorities at MPB.
“We are excited to welcome Andrew to the team,” MPB Executive Director Royal Aills mentioned. “Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge that is crucial to our station as we transition to our new digital-first approach to broadcasting.”
