NEW YORK, Oct 31 (Reuters) – A Brooklyn man and two Montreal residents had been charged on Tuesday in New York over an alleged scheme to violate U.S. sanctions by exporting thousands and thousands of {dollars} of know-how to Russia, together with tools supporting the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.

Salimdzhon Nasriddinov, 52; Nikolay Goltsev, 37, and Kristina Puzyreva, 32, had been every charged with smuggling, conspiracy to violate sanctions and wire fraud conspiracy.

The U.S. Attorney’s workplace in Brooklyn stated Nasriddinov, a Russian-Tajikistan nationwide, was arrested in Brooklyn, whereas Goltsev and Puzyreva, each Russian-Canadian nationals, had been arrested at a Manhattan lodge throughout a visit to go to him.

Prosecutors need the defendants jailed pending trial, saying they pose a “serious flight risk” and have vital overseas ties.

Lawyers for the defendants couldn’t instantly be recognized.
