What’s happening with fall sports?
On Monday, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that all sports can start practicing on September 21st. However, not all sports would be allowed to participate in games.
Now, the governing body that oversees sports at public schools says more meetings will be necessary to determine how best to move forward.
The New York State Public High School Athletic Association says there are several issues that need to be addressed, including the number of required practices that students need before playing games, and how many games will be allowed during the new fall season.
Soccer, tennis, and swimming have been given the green light to hold games.
There’s no clear date on when NYSPHA will make a decision.
