On August 15, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the digital health mission. The agency to carry on this mission Ayushman Bharat CEO Dr Indu Bhushan speaks to Times Network on the 14 digit health ID, the benefits and aim of this mission. With the help of this mission, the health history as well as medical records, procedures of any patient will be saved on an online database. 

Dr Indu Bhushan says that participation in the mission is voluntary. This ID will help ease access to medical services. Linking of Aadhar is not necessary. One can enrol through any mobile phone or hospital. This is a big push to the digitalisation of healthcare in India.
