Following the decision to return to school in a distance learning format this fall, Winters Joint Unified School District staff are trying to reach out to all families to learn more about what their access to technology and the internet is.
The Connecting to School: Internet and Device Survey was sent out by text message, email and was posted on various school social media accounts on Friday. Input from families will provide Winters JUSD saff with information on which students have technology access at home and which ones will need support in getting connected to the internet or who need devices.
There are two versions of the survey available:
Spanish version: https://forms.gle/KMU4Kw7vGYkLaXWn8
English version: https://forms.gle/nZm9NSJgNPtNJto36
Families who have multiple children attending Winters schools only need to fill the survey out once. Two of the questions inquire about multiple children and which Winters school sites they attend.
Nicole Reyherme, Director of Innovation and Technology, said the survey should be available for most of August.
Winters JUSD also shared a link to resources for ways to get internet access at home at https://bit.ly/2ONA4rn
The school district is currently working on obtaining hotspots for students who need them through T-Mobile. However, due to high demand they are unsure of how long it will take and encourage families to look into the listed options to get connected.
Families who cannot get internet access should contact the Winters JUSD Tech Support team at [email protected] to get on a waitlist for the hotspot once they are available.
