SP Balasubrahmanyam, who is admitted for Covid-19 treatment at the MGM Healthcare hospital, is now conscious and responsive, read the bulletin. The doctors treating SPB also said that he continues to be on ventilator and ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) support. His son, SP Charan, in his latest video, said that he visited his father at the hospital and that he was comfortable without sedation.

The hospital’s statement read, “Thiru SP Balasubrahmanyam who has been admitted at MGM Healthcare due to Covid-19 continues to be on ventilator and ECMO support in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). His current clinical condition is stable. He is conscious & responsive and continues to be closely monitored by our multidisciplinary clinical team (sic).”

SP Balasubrahmanyam’s son SP Charan released a new video in which he shared updates about his father’s condition. In the video, Charan said that he visited his father at the hospital and spoke to him. He also added that SPB tried to write something to convey his thoughts, but he couldn’t hold the pen properly. Charan is confident that his father will be able to write by the end of this week.

Charan said that his father is recovering well and is more awake and responsive. Doctors who are treating SPB said that there is a slight improvement in his lungs. He said that SPB is comfortable without sedation.

Charan also requested the hospital to read him a newspaper every day, so that he knows what is happening outside. He reiterated that it will be a slow recovery for his dad. Charan called this the first step of recovery and hopes for more improvement.

SP Balasubrahmanyam got admitted to the hospital on August 5 after testing positive for the novel coronavirus. His health condition worsened on the night of August 13 and was put on a ventilator. The entire country is praying for the recovery of SP Balasubrahmanyam.
