A monopoly just isn’t unlawful within the United States. But abuse of that energy will be. On Jan. 24, the Senate Judiciary Committee held a listening to that explored whether or not Live Nation Entertainment, the consolidation of Live Nation and Ticketmaster, is hurting shoppers by stifling competitors. It just isn’t the primary time the corporate has come beneath fierce scrutiny. In 2019, the Department of Justice alleged Live Nation Entertainment violated its consent decree, the situation of the 2 firms’ merger, and the live performance big settled with the federal government. The present controversy was sparked in November when presale tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour have been stricken by disruptions and sluggish queues, and most of the people sale was canceled.
