NEW YORK — The world’s challenges are interconnected and can only be addressed through reinvigorated multilateralism, which is a necessity as we build back better for a more equal, more resilient and more sustainable world, the United Nations (UN) said Monday in a declaration to commemorate its 75th anniversary.

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump said Monday that he is considering five women for the Supreme Court seat vacated by the death of liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

CAIRO — Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed on Monday a number of regional issues.

RIO DE JANEIRO — Brazil’s COVID-19 death toll surpassed 137,000 on Monday after 377 more patients died from COVID-19 in the previous 24 hours, raising the total number of fatalities to 137,272.
