SANTA MARIA, Calif. – Resident physicians with Marian Regional Medical Center are performing hundreds of physicals to help get high school athletes ready for sports next week.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, they are conducting the physicals outdoors with COVID-19 test kits on hand in the parking lot at Pioneer Valley High School.
Doctors say they chose the parking lot for the physicals because of its wide open space and natural ventilation.
In order to keep everyone safe, organizers have arranged nine rows of cars allowing for safe social distancing.
Students step out of their cars and are evaluated by a resident.
