The Owensboro Times sports honors this week go to Owensboro’s Gavin Wimsatt and Daviess County’s Elizabeth Moore.

Wimsatt, a junior quarterback for the Red Devils, is the Football Player of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Wimsatt was 15-of-29 for 218 yards and had 111 rushing yards to go with four total touchdowns in OHS’s win over Daviess County last week.

Moore, a senior volleyball player for the Lady Panthers, is the Athlete of the Week after receiving the most votes in the weekly poll. Moore had 51 kills and 31 digs in three matches last week for DC.

Next week’s Football and Athlete of the Week polls will open Monday morning and run through Wednesday at 5 p.m.

Note: Winners of the weekly honors will not be eligible for nomination again.
