A former play centre is being transformed into a large new children’s entertainment complex boasting a “dinky town”, laser arena, games station and martial arts studio.
The team behind Under 1 Roof Kids Thanet, based in the old Bumblebeez building on Pysons Road, Ramsgate , has already opened the first part of the business – a soft play area, enchanted village café and party kingdom.
But there’s more to come, with phase two of the project including a laser arena, games station and arcade, dance and recording studios, martial arts studios, events centre, go karting, a theatre as well as an Ofsted registered nursery.
There will be events such as enchanted cinema, a pumpkin patch for Halloween, and Santa’s Grotto and elf experience at Christmas.
Children’s parties with a range of themes, including princess balls, go-kart races, lazer battles or fighting crime with superheroes, will also be available.
The venture is the brainchild of sisters Zahra and Parisa Tarjomani, who between them run Princess World, Regency Performing Arts and Regency Productions, and Matt Milchard, founder of Just Kids Parties.
Their aim is to create a one-stop children’s hub in the heart of Thanet.
Parisa said: “Our idea is to create a centre that houses multiple children’s service providers, classes, activities and entertainment – all under one roof.”
The unit next to Bumblebeez has been let to role play business Dinky Town, with hopes this will open in the coming weeks.
It will include a child-sized café, doctors, police station, supermarket and construction area where little ones can play.
The Under 1 Roof team says they are looking forward to the next couple of months.
“We hope to bring some normality and fun back into people’s lives after what has been a testing few months for the whole country.
“Under 1 Roof has also been working behind the scenes with its sister site in London creating a Covid-19 management plan ensuring that customers feel safe and prepared when entering the premises in this unusual climate.
“Management procedures include mask wearing when moving around site, regular cleaning intervals between sessions, social distancing measures and queue markers.
“We are also operating at a heavily reduced capacity at just 40% of total allowed capacity, to ensure all tables are socially distanced and giving children ample room in the play frames.”
Booking for soft play and the enchanted village are now open for guests and taking bookings online at www.under1roofkidsthanet.com.
