Renowned Marathi Lavani singer Sulochana Chavan died in Mumbai on Saturday attributable to age-related illnesses, her household stated. Sulochana Chavan, 92, was a Padma Shri recipient. She breathed her final at her south Mumbai residence, her son and Dholki participant Vijay Chavan informed PTI. Known as ‘Lavani Samradnyi‘ (Queen of Lavani), Sulochana Chavan was probably the most well-known singers on this conventional Maharashtrian musical style carefully related to the people theatre type Tamasha.

Chief Minister Shinde in his condolence message stated Chavan’s loss of life has left a void within the area of Lavani, people artwork and music.

Leader of Opposition within the Assembly Ajit Pawar additionally paid tributes to the late singer.
