GREATER NOIDA: A 500 Kv substation in Noida Sector 148 caught fire early on Wednesday.
The substation was a new, additional facility energised in October last year which fed power to the 220 Kv substation in Sector 129.

Both substations cater to sectors mostly around Noida Expressway. According to officials about five to seven fire tenders were deployed since morning to contain the blaze.
The cause of fire is yet to be ascertained. Initial observations indicate towards a technical fault, said officials.
Power supply will continue from the Sector 129 substation through a second, alternate line from Pali.
