GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (KKCO) – The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has reported an outbreak of COVID-19 at Orchard Avenue Extended Hours, a childcare center in the valley.
According to the state’s website, one staff member and two attendees tested positive.
Extended Hours says that one child who attended their program tested positive last month and that they are 21 days past the positive test date.
Mesa County Valley School District 51 says that in their understanding, the cases were identified and addressed in July, before school started. They say the individuals are either out or nearly out of the incubation period and do not pose a known risk to students.
