Ali Khan, the Kolkata Knight Riders pacer, is carrying an injury but hasn’t been ruled out of IPL 2020. An IPL media release on Wednesday (October 7) started that the Khan was injured and will miss the rest of the season. However, Cricbuzz has learnt that the 29-year-old, who became the first player from USA to be signed by an IPL franchise, is carrying a niggle but has been training regularly with the squad.

Khan was drafted into the KKR set-up after the Nottinghamshire left-arm paceman Harry Gurney suffered a shoulder injury ahead of the T20 Blast in England. Khan rose to limelight after his big break that came in 2018 when the then Trinbago Knight Riders captain Dwayne Bravo spotted him at the Global T20 Canada.

Khan ended up featuring in the CPL that year, picking up 16 wickets in 12 matches in his debut season, the second-best among all fast bowlers in the competition.

Khan also picked up eight wickets for TKR in the CPL 2020. He has also featured in the Bangladesh Premier League and the Pakistan Super League while he has played one ODI and has a career spanning 36 T20s in which he has picked up 38 wickets.
