Chinese tech and real estate firm Seedland Group and New York-based Al Roker Entertainment have completed production on a new series that explores the furthest reaches of scientific endeavor across three continents.

Forging the Future will be distributed by Sideways Film. The London-based distribution outfit is currently embarking on a 20-city European sales tour.

The six-part science series will examine the work of some of the world’s most advanced research facilities – including Harvard University and Massachusetts Institute of Technology – across North America, Europe and Australia.

Each episode of Forging the Future will reveal a range of cutting-edge disciplines being explored in popular science today and feature conversations with world-renowned scientists and technologists.

Episodes will offer a deep dive into such topics as artificial intelligence, achieving immortality, genetic engineering, cyborg technology, creating a disease-free world with the human microbiome, and the interplanetary ramifications and requirements to sustaining human life off of Earth.

Forging the Future marks the first docuseries produced and released by China’s Seedland Group. It is executive produced by Christopher Webb Young (Brain Games, Primal Connections), Kyle McCabe (Mysteries of the Abandoned, When Sharks Attack), and K. K. Ng.

“Forging the Future showcases the stories of top scientists from our time who are confronting the grand challenges before humanity by uncovering the world’s leading discoveries. These scientists are indomitable heroes improving our lives,” said Seedland Group chairman Liang Zhang in a statement.
