KUALA LUMPUR: Three owners of entertainment outlets and 87 patrons were issued RM90,000 worth of compound notices for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOP).

Kuala Lumpur Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Azman Ayob said the raids were conducted on three entertainment outlets in the city on Friday night (Feb 18).

“Eighty seven patrons and three owners were issued with RM1,000 compound notices each.

“They committed an offence under Rule 17 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations as activities at entertainment outlets are still prohibited as per the Covid-19 SOP,” he said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 19).

Since Jan 1, more than RM370,000 worth of compound notices have been issued to owners of entertainment outlets and patrons, said SAC Azman.

“We advise the public to adhere to the SOP to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

“We will step up such operations to assist the government in controlling the spread of the virus for the benefit of all parties,” he said.
