Drone Technology Will Take Agriculture To New Level: PM Modi At Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s biggest drone festival, Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 on Friday at Delhi’s Pragati Maidan. He also interacted with the Kisan drone operators and startups in the drone exhibition center. PM Modi also digitally launched 150 remote pilot certificates during the event. 

After the inauguration, PM Modi addressed the participants of the event. During his address, he urged all the officials present there to watch the exhibition stating that many stalls have good governance ideas. 

He also said that for years, there was a fear of technology amongst the people that hindered the development of the country. However, after 2014, the country has seen technological growth. 

“This festival is not just a technology, but also a celebration of new governance of new India, unprecedented positivity towards new experiments. This was the time 8 years ago when we started implementing new mantras of good governance in India,” PM Modi said. 

We are developing the technology and making efforts to skill up the technology, he said. Drones will help in improving all sectors from media to tourism and defence, he added.

PM Modi also gave an example of how drone technology has helped him oversee the development of projects, as it is easily accessible. 

“Technology has paved the way to ensure the last-mile delivery of govt schemes. The use of drones will increase in the defense sector & disaster management,” he said.

PM Modi also added that drone technology is being used in Swamitva Yojana for digital mapping of land. 

He also talked about how farmers are accepting drone technology for assistance in farming. “Drone technology is now going to take our agriculture sector to another level. Smart technology-based drones can be of great use in this,” he said.

PM Modi also invited investors from across the world to develop drone technology as it would empower the common man. 

According to a press release by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Bharat Drone Mahotsav 2022 is a two-day event being held in Delhi on May 27 and 28. Over 1600 delegates participated in the event. 

These delegates included government officials, foreign diplomats, armed forces, central armed police forces, PSUs, private companies and drone startups, etc.

At the Bharat Drone Mahotsav, more than 70 exhibitors will display various use cases of drones at the exhibition.

The Mahotsav will also witness a virtual award of drone pilot certificates, product launches, panel discussions, flying demonstrations, display of a Made in India Drone Taxi prototype, among others, said the PMO press release.
