BROOKINGS – In their first game action in a week and a half, Pierre Governor soccer teams earned a win and a draw Saturday in Brookings.
The Governor girls defeated Brookings 4-1 to improve to 2-5-1.
Pierre’s boys had a 4-4 draw with the Bearcats and are 3-4-2.
Both teams will play Monday at Sioux Falls Roosevelt, making up matches that were postponed on September 17, then host Yankton on Tuesday to end the regular season. Thursday’s scheduled matches with Watertown have been cancelled.

MITCHELL – Governor boys golf finished seventh on Saturday at the ESD Invite at Lakeview Golf Course. Pierre shot 356, led by 84 from Sawyer Sonnenschein. Luke Olson shot 90, with Jonathan Lyons and Nick Bothun each shooting 91.
Pierre’s season will culminate on Monday, October 5 with the state tournament at Willow Run Golf Club in Sioux Falls.

PIERRE – At the Pierre Invite in girls’ tennis Saturday at Griffin Park, the Governors were 1-2 in duals. Pierre defeated Spearfish 7-2, lost to Rapid City Christian 7-2 and was edged 5-4 by Aberdeen Roncalli.
The ESD meet is set for Tuesday in Harrisburg.

RAPID CITY – At Stevens High School on Saturday, the Pierre Competitive Dance team finished third at the Raider Invite. Pierre was second in Dance and second in Hip Hop. The Cheer team was eighth.
The Governor teams will next compete Tuesday at O’Gorman.
