UNDATED (AP) — No. 11 Oklahoma State controls its own destiny in trying to get to its first Big 12 championship game. The 7-1 Cowboys play this week at West Virginia. They are tied for second place in the league standings with No. 14 Baylor and already beat the Bears, and still have a game this month against fourth-ranked Oklahoma. West Virginia is 4-4 overall, but has won its last two games after starting 0-3 in league play. The Big 12’s top two running backs are in the same game when Breece Hall and Iowa State take on Bijan Robinson and Texas.

UNDATED (AP) — The NCAA has upheld a one-year postseason ban and other penalties against the Oklahoma State men’s basketball program. An NCAA infractions committee panel hit the Cowboys with numerous penalties last year related to findings that former assistant coach Lamont Evans accepted up to $22,000 in bribes so he could to help steer athletes to certain financial advisers. Oklahoma State was eligible for the postseason last season while appealing. The Cowboys went 21-9 and reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament with eventual No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham leading the way.

UNDATED (AP) — No. 5 Michigan State is on upset alert as the Spartans try to follow up their big victory against rival Michigan with a road win against Purdue. Earlier this season, the Boilermakers handed then-No. 2 Iowa its first loss of the season. It was Purdue’s ninth victory as an unranked team over a team ranked No. 2. No other program has more than four. No. 7 Oregon is also less than a touchdown favorite against rival Washington and undefeated and No. 10 Wake Forest is getting points on the road against North Carolina.
