Duluth, Minn. — What do you get when you pair Minnesota-Nice with all of the professional sports teams in the state? You get one pretty awesome initiative to give back during this tough time.
Seven Minnesota sports teams and organizations are teaming up with Fox Sports North and Minnesota’s Feeding America food banks to fight hunger. The week-long event that starts Wednesday, September 23rd. It will feature all your favorite athletes and coaches and the opportunity to give back and to bid on some unique auction items.
Proceeds from the campaign will provide much-needed meals to six food banks across the state, serving 110 counties in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
“I think this speaks volumes about the community of Minnesota and when it comes to social responsibility and community relations, we all unite and we certainly recognize the power of all of us coming together to further our impact,” said Timberwolves and Lynx VP of Social Responsibility Jennifer Ridgeway. “Really applaud Fox sports north and bringing all of us together and the University of Minnesota is joining and also the Minnesota broadcasters association and many other partners.”
Be sure to tune into Fox sports north this Friday following the Twins game for a 30 minute special featuring players and coaches from all of Minnesota’s prominent sports teams.
