County reports 1 additional death
Harrison County Hospital and the Harrison County Health Dept. are partnering to offer community-based COVID-19 testing.
The free testing clinic, to be located in Corydon, will open in early September. Details will be released as they are made available.
The clinic is made possible in part by a Testing Grant through the Indiana State Dept. of Health.
Since last week, the Harrison County Health Dept. has reported an additional death, that of an 80-year-old man who had underlying health conditions, from the coronavirus. That brings the total of deaths to 25 with an additional two being clinical deaths in county residents.
There have been 458 confirmed cases of COVID-19 as of Monday, with 58 of those reported as new since Aug. 17.
To date, 5,434 Harrison Countians have been tested for the virus.
Statewide, the number of Hoosiers tested surpassed the one million mark last week, with a total of 1,010,981. As of Monday, there have been 88,421 positive cases, up from 81,847 the previous week.
The number of residents in the state who have died from COVID-19 increased by 69 since last week, reaching a total of 3,023, with the number of presumptive death rising to 218, up from 211.
