Referring to Debroy’s article dated August 14 – printed in an internet portal – the memorandum acknowledged that the thought of fixing the Constitution may be very “sad” and “shocking”. “In reality, when the Constitution has not been fully implemented in the country with many of its objectives remaining unfulfilled, the idea of changing it is like an insult to the Constitution. If there is any change in the lives of poor, deprived and specially women of the country, it is owing to the Constitutional provisions,” it mentioned.
