Hyderabad: T-Sports Club from India got their campaign off to a poor start in the Asia men’s Club league handball championship, which began at the Gachibowli Stadium here on Wednesday.
T-Sports gave Al Qadsiya of Kuwait a tough fight in the first-half, keeping the margin to 18-12 at the break but the Kuwaiti team proved too strong as they ran away with the match at 37-24.
Al-Arabi Sports Club of Qatar won the inaugural match. They defeated Al-Noor of Saudi Arabia 29-24. It was too close to call in the first-half, as Al-Arabi led 14-13. Al-Noor fought hard in the second-half too, but they failed to get past Al-Arabi, who were well served by Poulo. He scored six points.
SATS in-charge VC & MD Sandeep Kumar Sultania, SATS chairman Venkateshwar Reddy and HFI president A Jaganmohanrao inaugurated the event.
