The CBI has arrested six individuals, together with two NHAI officers, in an alleged Rs 20-lakh bribery case in Maharashtra’s Nagpur.
“The arrested persons are Arvind Kale, General Manager and Project Director of NHAI, Project Implementation Units, Nagpur; Brijesh Kumar Sahu, Deputy General Manager and Project Director of NHAI Harda, MP; Anil Bansal and Kunal Bansal, both Directors of M/s Bansal Construction Works Pvt. Ltd; C Krishna, who gave a bribe; and Chhater Singh Lodhi, an employee of M/s Bansal Construction Works Pvt. Ltd. Around Rs 1.1 crore cash, including the bribe money, has been seized so far,” a CBI spokesperson stated.

According to the spokesperson, the CBI has registered a case in opposition to 4 public servants of National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), a Bhopal-based non-public firm, 5 individuals, together with two administrators, and staff of the non-public firm and unknown others, on allegations that administrators of a Bhopal-based non-public firm have been “delivering bribes” to varied public servants of the NHAI.
“…the CBI laid a trap and after the delivery of Rs 20-lakh bribe to Kale by the employee of a private company were they apprehended. Searches are being conducted at different offices and residences of the accused, including in Nagpur, Bhopal, and Harda. Rs 1.1 crore, has been seized,” he stated.
