Every summer the Águilas municipality offers an extensive programme of entertainment for visitors and in spite of the Covid situation this year is no exception.

This year all of the events in the urban town are taking place in the plaza de Antonio Cortijos,which has been set up this year to accommodate a maximum of 400 people with a minimum separation of 1.5 metres between spectators.

Other events such as the “Cinema in your district” programme is set in the outside plazas of local neighbourhoods around Águilas and is all free of charge.

90% of the activities programmed are free of charge and those which are paid entry are marked in the list below.

A separate programme will be published for the Emerging Theatre Festival between the 20th and 23rd August.

In addition this year the normal firework night on 14th August is being replaced by a night of music; “Águilas en acústico”.

As there is concern to avoid the huge crowds which are normally attracted by the fierwork display, this year seven musical groups will be performing along the Levante and Poniente bays to encourage the public to wander around and listen to music in different places rather than gathering in a large crowd as is normally the case.

All attendees at the events will be required to wear masks and observe social distancing.
