In State College Tonight a group of parents, students and fans gathered at State College High School to hold a save Fall sports rally. They were out Tonight urging the State College Area School District to allow them to play sports in the Fall.
The group consists of Football, Volleyball, Soccer, Cross Country, and even Winter sports parents and athletes. The district had recently shutdown in person classes due to the spike in COVID-19 numbers in the county.
And they are taking it on a week by week basis. They are also going to rule of the status of sports on Thursday night.
Those at the rally say they are upset that other schools in their conference and county are already playing games and they should give their kids the same chance.
“We really want them to make the decision that the ultimate decision whether to play or not is in the hands of the players and their parents. They’ve done a great job in setting the table, now let us go out and do our thing.”
According to Mid Penn Conference rules. Competition for Fall sports will not start until September 25th.
