Through September: Women of Resilience Exhibition: Coburn Art Gallery at Ashland University, 331 College Ave.; through Oct. 1. The Women of Resilience exhibition is part of local and national celebrations of the centennial of women’s suffrage. Twenty-five artists will explore a variety of topics in traditional and non-traditional media.
Sept. 17: Wayne County Fair, fairgrounds, Wooster, which is a junior fair only event this year, wraps up today. Admission is free. Everyone attending, including youth exhibitors, parents, spectators, volunteers and food vendors, must comply with COVID protocols such as maintaining social distancing, frequent hand washing, completing a daily self health-check and wearing masks while indoors.
Sept. 19: Sixth annual Rockin’ Rib Run and Poker Run. Registration 9-11 a.m. at Leroy’s Bar and Grill, 400 Palmer St., Wooster. Blessing of the Bikes by Rolling Thunder, Chapter 2 at 9:30 a.m. with first bikes immediately following. $20 single rider/$30 couple with proceeds benefiting the deaf and hard of hearing, those with speech difficulties and women and children in the community. The poker run finishes at Ugly Duck, 3331 Lincoln Way E., Wooster, with live music by Whiskey Bound and Blues Mob, 3-8 p.m.
Sept. 19: Just Plain Bill — A Blast From the Past, free, 7 p.m. at Reserve at Deer Creek, 744 Whitetail Crossing, Wooster. Bill Malloy will set up his audio system in front of his garage and entertain neighbors and friends by singing oldies but goodies, classic country and southern gospel songs. Spectators are asked to bring chairs. Due to COVID-19, the event is outside. Sept. 21: Speaker Series, Cleo Redd Fisher Museum, Loudonville, virtual format. The series will kick off Monday, 7 p.m., with Katherine Durack of The Genius of Liberty podcast presenting “Ohio’s Role in Woman Suffrage: Three Reasons to Celebrate the 2020 Women’s Vote Centennial.” The program will be streamed to the museum’s Facebook page and Youtube account, ensuring that guests will not have to download any special software to access it, however, those platforms may require registered accounts in order to submit live questions during the Q&A session.
