HUNTINGDON — The Huntingdon Area School District hired Jordan Fortson as its new high school boys basketball coach at its board meeting Monday.
Fortson, who was approved unanimously at a salary of $4,901, takes over for Nick Payne, who resigned in March following three straight District 6 Class 4A championships with the Bearcats.
The hiring of a new basketball coach had been delayed by the coronavirus pandemic.
Huntingdon also approved Charles Reed as a volunteer high school football coach.
The school approved a 25 percent capacity for sporting events contingent on House Bill 2787’s veto by Gov. Tom Wolf that occurred on Monday being overridden by the House of Representatives and Senate.
