The town of Leesburg will now run its outdoor dining program every Friday, Saturday and Sunday until Nov. 8, officials said Friday morning.
The program — which began July 31 and was originally planned to conclude Oct. 24 — closes South King Street from Market to Loudoun streets Friday and Saturday evenings to allow downtown restaurants to expand capacity via outdoor seating.
Participants include Black Hoof Brewing Company, Delirium Café, Echelon Wine Bar, King Street Oyster Bar, Leesburg Gourmet and The Wine Kitchen.
Town officials will shut down the street at 3:30 p.m. on event days. Outdoor dining hours will run 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
Customers are asked not to congregate in the street and to maintain proper physical distancing during the triweekly event.
While there will not be be any live music or outdoor entertainment, customers are encouraged to check out local shops and other businesses while waiting to be seated.
