WHEELING — The Wheeling Park volleyball team was not phased by a week of quarantine last week after a coach tested positive for COVID-19, as it swept Parkersburg South 25-21, 25-20 and 25-16 on Monday for its seventh straight win, to improve to 8-2.

Makara Ferguson led the team with seven kills and seven blocks, while Rachel Simon turned in six kills, five blocks and 11 digs and Lizzy Simon added six blocks and a pair of kills.

WOODSFIELD — Monroe Central improved to 11-3 with a three-set sweep of the invading Bulldogs.

Haylyn Hiles had eight kills and two blocks, while Trista Morris had four kills and six digs. Kyra English added 10 points, three aces and six digs. Kalista Friday had six digs. Alexa Marley had seven assists, while Lizzie Alleman had four assists. Kynzi Bishop had seven aces. Abby Thompson had four aces and nine points.

Harrison Central

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Alexis Thoburn led St. Clairsville to victory with 15 kills, eight digs and four aces.

Chloe Biancavelli turned in 15 assists, eight digs and seven aces, Shae Brookover tallied 12 assists and Lydia Wees added five kills for the Red Devils.

Sophomore Torre Kildow had 10 kills, four assists, five digs and three aces. Reagan Vinskovich had four kills, dive digs and an ace. Casey Kildow had 18 assists, five digs and four kills. Chloe Doud had four kills and Baylee Rex had five digs.

HANNIBAL — Paden City made quick work of homesteading River Monday evening.

Mallory Yeater was dynamite with 18 points, 20 assists, six kills and seven digs, while Hope Weber was a force at the net with 17 kills, seven assists and six digs. Maggi Still poured in 31 points and eight aces and Brandis Dalrymple added seven blocks and seven points.

The Pilots were led by Katie Rufener’s three kills. Rilyn Haught had six digs, while Kiley Wagnild, Delaney Bolger and Hannah Raper each had five digs.

Martins Ferry d. Bellaire 25-21, 25-18, 17-25, 24-26, 15-12

BELLAIRE — Bryanna Beckett collected 33 assists and 16 digs in a Bellaire loss to Martins Ferry.

Jayden Lowe accumulated 20 digs and seven kills, Gianna Schmidt tallied nine kills and five digs and Katelyn Hart garnered nine kills for the Big Reds.

Indian Creek d. Edison 25-16, 25-23, 25-19

WINTERSVILLE — Despite the loss, Kaitlin Kowalczyk turned in eight points to lead Edison.

Karissa Speedy amassed nine assists, while Olivia Huff and Corinne Freeman each added four kills and four blocks for the Wildcats.
