Another friend, Kelsea Anstey, couldn’t go because of other commitments .
“There are five of us in the friend group, unfortunately the dates didn’t work out for Kelsea,” explained Amanda. “While we were prepared to have a friendly faceoff, like a passing drill or a quarterback challenge or something like that to decide who went, it didn’t come to that. From the beginning, we knew it would be with those girls. Once we were able to expand our bubble, those were the three that were welcomed in and it’s stayed that way. We couldn’t imagine better friends to celebrate sports and our friendship with than Selina and Ally.”
Amanda arrived in the world 15 minutes ahead of Brittany — 2:16 p.m., March 25, 1995 in Mississauga Hospital. In ultrasounds, they were labelled Baby A and Baby B. They still joke about it.
“Brittany likes to say she sent me out to test the waters and let her know if it was worth it,” said Amanda with a laugh. “Now, if she’s 15 minutes late, it’s fine … because that’s how she entered the world.”
They’re not only sisters, they’re besties.
Asked what their relationship is like, Brittany said: “We never know how to answer that. It sounds cheesy, but in our case it’s really like being blessed with a best friend from birth, someone with whom you can go through every aspect of life and who always understands you.”
So these sisters and their buds are experiencing a trip of a lifetime, with a strong sports twist — inside the Bud Bubble in a southern Ontario house, somewhere outside of Toronto.
