Earlier last week there was a report about Apple launching as many as four new iPhone 13 models in 2021, and now we have information through the same source about the iPhone SE 3. Coming courtesy of Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants — who had taken to Twitter to reveal information about the affordable iPhone SE 3 — there is information that the next iPhone SE will not be launched in 2021, but instead will be launched in 2022.
As per Young, the iPhone SE 3 will come with a 6.06-inch LCD display when it finally launches in 2022, and will also feature a dual rear camera set-up that will be the same as the one we’ve previously seen on the iPhone 11. The iPhone SE 3, he claims, will also come with a fingerprint sensor instead of the FaceID. Additionally, the phone is claimed to not support fast millimeter-wave 5G technology but instead use sub 6Ghz bands.
In a tweet, Young said, “Like DSCC, Mizuho Securities also says no new iPhone SE model in 2021, have to wait till 2022. They do say all iPhone 13 models will have integrated touch, BOE will join LGD on both 6.1″ models, mini and 13 will adopt 12 Pro Max camera sensors, and sensor size will increase on Pro.”
As we can see, the tweet also reveals some key details about the iPhone 13 models which could come with similarly sized displays like the iPhone 12 devices. In total there will be four phones under the line-up, with the iPhone 13 series also said to integrate touch (Y-Octa) panels. As per the information shared by Young, the iPhone 13 will get a 5.42-inch display, there will be a bigger iPhone 13 model with a 6.06-inch panel. The iPhone 13 Pro will also flaunt a 6.06-inch display, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max will get a 6.67-inch display.
Additionally, all models are said to sport OLED panels, however, their suppliers will be different. This is because SDC (Samsung Display Co., Ltd.) will supply panels for Pro Max as well as the smaller model, which could be called as Mini, while LGD (LG Display) will be making panels for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro. The report also claims that BOE will also be supplying panels for the Pro and standard iPhone 13 models.
Of the four, only the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are tipped to get a ToF camera. The iPhone 13 models are set to get a dual-camera set-up, as opposed to triple-lens ones on the iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max phones.
