Dragons rally past Arabians
The New Palestine girls soccer team battled the rain, wind and cold weather conditions on Wednesday night to upend rival Pendleton Heights 2-1.
The win improved the Dragons season record to 9-4 overall and 5-1 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play.
The Dragons rallied with two goals in the closing minutes to beat the Arabians, who are now 5-1 in the HHC.
The two teams battled throughout the evening, but neither could find the net until the final 10 minutes, when Pendleton Heights scored on a 20-yard free kick.
The Dragons rallied afterwards. Tylar Whitaker played a through ball to McKenzie Davis, who buried the shot to tie the game at 1-1 with seven minutes left.
A minute and a half later, Anna Luker collected a ball that bounced off an Arabians defender and put it away for the game-winner.
The Dragons return to the pitch on Monday at home for their final HHC game of the season against Shelbyville.
