The God’s Not Dead series continues in “God’s Not Dead: We the People”, as Reverend Dave finds himself at the defense of a group of Christian homeschooling families after they receive an impromptu inspection by a progressive, local-government official – who doesn’t like what she finds.
Believing that the children are receiving an inferior education compared to their public school counterparts, and potentially being unfairly indoctrinated at a young age by their Bible-believing parents, the families are ordered to return their children to the public school system, or else face exorbitant fines and contempt of court.

Cinemark hosts 40th anniversary screening of ‘The Evil Dead’
Cinemark Hollywood 16 & XD, 9100 Canyon Drive, is hosting a special 40th anniversary screening of “The Evil Dead” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7.
Ash (Campbell), his girlfriend Linda (Betsy Baker), his sister Cheryl (Ellen Sandweiss), and couple Scotty (Hal Delrich) and Shelly (Sarah York), drive to a remote cabin in the woods for a fun getaway. While there, they find the Necronomicon Ex-Mortis (aka “The Book of the Dead”), an ancient tome whose text reawakens the dead when read out loud. After unintentionally releasing a flood of evil, the five friends must fight for their lives or become possessed.

Nitro Circus returns to Amarillo
Nitro Circus is gearing up to make its highly anticipated return to Amarillo.
Nitro Circus will bring the high-flying You Got This tour to Amarillo for a Friday, Oct. 8 show at Hodgetown.
This is part of an extensive North American trek that will visit more than 25 cities across the continent this year. Fans can be there live as Nitro Circus’ roster of elite athletes, including champion BMX and scooter rider Ryan Williams as well as skilled professionals in freestyle motocross (FMX), skate and more, brave the world’s largest jumps.
The legendary 45-foot Giganta ramp will launch athletes into the sky at 40 mph, while on the moto side riders will send it 65-feet high.

Crockett to perform at Starlight Ranch
Charley Crockett makes his way back to Amarillo on Friday, Oct. 8, at Starlight Ranch, 1415 Sunrise Drive.

Nelly to perform at Starlight
Starlight Ranch Event Center announced that Nelly will headline a concert at the venue Oct. 9, the last show of its 2021 season.
According to a news release, Nelly is a three-time Grammy Award-winning artist who crosses genres of country, rap, and R&B. Nelly’s Fall Concert tour will feature a full live band as well as performances from Blanco Brown and Harper Grace.
This tour comes after Nelly released his RIAA certified Diamond record “Country Grammar” 20 years ago, releasing a live full band production of the album earlier this year. According to the release, Nelly is set to release his “Heartland” extended play, featuring “a collection of ‘country-club bangers.’ ”

Styx concert rescheduled for Oct. 21
The classic rock band Styx has rescheduled its previously postponed concert in Amarillo for 8 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Civic Center Complex Auditorium, Entrance #12.
Those who purchased tickets for Sept. 13, 2020, or Feb. 14, 2021, are asked to hold onto their tickets as they will be honored for this performance.
Formed in 1972, Styx is best known for melding hard rock guitar balanced with acoustic guitar, synthesizers mixed with acoustic piano, upbeat tracks with power ballads, and incorporating elements of international musical theatre.
Some of their tops hits include “Come Sail Away,” “Lady,” “Too Much Time on My Hands,” and “Mr. Roboto,” among others.

ALT to present ‘Sherlock Holmes’
Amarillo Little Theatre, 2019 Civic Circle, will present “Sherlock Holmes and the First Baker Street Irregular,” at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday Oct. 22 and 23, and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 23 and 24, on the ALT Mainstage. Tough street urchin Wiggins leads a group of orphans as they face the streets of London together. Yoakam coming to Amarillo
Country star Dwight Yoakam is scheduled to perform at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 22, at the Civic Center Complex Auditorium. Concertgoers should use Entrance #12.
Yoakam is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and actor, known for his pioneering style of country music.
