New Delhi:

Former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh was hospitalised this evening after he complained of fever and weakness.

He has been admitted to the All India Institute Of Medical Sciences in the national capital.

Earlier this year, the 88-year-old Congress veteran and Rajya Sabha member had been admitted to hospital after he tested positive for Covid-19 during the second wave of infections.

Pranav Jha, AICC secretary in-charge of communications, said Dr Singh is “undergoing routine treatment” and his condition is stable. He also dismissed “unsubstantiated rumours” regarding his health.

Soon after news of Dr Singh’s hospitalisation came, prominent Congress leaders took to Twitter to wish him quick recovery.

“Praying for quick recovery and good health of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji who has been admitted to AIIMS,” tweeted Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi.

Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Karnataka Assembly wished Dr Singh a quick recovery.
