ROANOKE, Va. (WFXR) — If you’re looking to explore the sights, sounds, and tastes of an international culture, you’re in luck because the Festival of India is returning to downtown Roanoke this weekend!
From 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13, Elmwood Park will be filled with savory food, live performances, and other elements of the Indian lifestyle as the India Heritage Society hosts the 15th annual festival.
Some of the organizers from the Festival of India — including Sunny Shah, Dr. Varuna Wander, and Dr. Varsha Desai with the Indian Heritage Society — joined WFXR News’ Hazelmarie Anderson to provide a preview of the amazing cultural displays and delicious cuisine you can enjoy at this year’s event.
