The unfortunate demise of a talented 17-year-old singer, Rishab Dutta, from Kakopathar in the state of Assam’s Tinsukia district in India has left social media in shock.

Dutta was suffering from Aplastic Anaemia, in which the body stops making enough new blood cells and was diagnosed with the disease about two years ago and died on Thursday, July 9.

On Facebook, a video has gone viral after he passed away, in which he was playing on his guitar to the songs’ Kabira’ from Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani and ‘Achha Chalta Hoon’ from the Bollywood movie “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.”

A Facebook user @Phuntshok Namgyal posted: “May your soul rest in peace, and I pray for your family.”

One user @manohar singh said: “It’s impossible to forget him. You will remain in our hearts forever Son ! We are not and never will be able to accept this injustice of fate. Rest in peace.”

The video has garnered over 17,000 likes, and social media users can’t stop sharing it. Facebook users have grieved the death of the young talent saying that “we lost a gem” and the boy would “forever live in our hearts”. Many facebook users wrote “wherever you are, rest in eternal peace”, mourning the loss of the budding star.

Sharing the video, a facebook user @yaswant wrote : “Literally tears were rolling down my eyes while listening to him. Rest in peace Brother.”

And another user @ Chandramani Karki comments: “RIP… You’ll always be remembered in our heart.”

A twitter user @aboyobbhuyan posted: “Found this video on the Internet today. Rishab Dutta, the love and passion he held for music is what shall remain afresh among us. Even in his tough treatment days, he was seen with the guitar.”

While administered treatment at the Christian Medical College in Vellore district of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu and a private hospital in Bengaluru, Dutta strummed to the tunes from Bollywood while tucked in the hospital bed in his ward. With a voice that the internet called “incredible and deep, full of emotions” the young boy could be seen passionately singing for his fans as he has a big following on his social media.
